We are pleased to offer for your consideration this rare clockwork early American George Brown Boy on Velocipede clockwork toy. This antique toy is in outstanding original condition and it works well. The toy is un-touched and has all of the gold stenciling on the top and right side of the motor case, the side shows two patent dates both in the 1870’s. The boy doll is wearing all of his original clothing which is very fragile, thread bare, and showing distress at the seams, but still wonderful to see. The hand painted finish on this George Brown Velocipede is the best we have ever seen; the cast iron wheels retain a lot of the black paint, the red and gold paint on the motor cover is in remarkable condition. The pressed linen head on the boy has some paint loss yet still retains the majority of his blue-eyed youthful face decoration.  A replacement key is included with the toy and it works very well. The toy measures 11” in length and 8 ½” tall. This is an early American toy with wide appeal to a variety of collectors and decorators. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS AND USE THE ENLARGE AND ZOOM FEATURES FOR BEST DESCRIPTION.
